What you should know about what we do... 

Consular discretion We follow the rules, we smile, occasionally we offer cookies, but visa issuance is ultimately out of our hands. Embassies provide guidelines about application requirements and processing speeds, but as diplomatic missions of sovereign nations, they have every right to disregard those guidelines, request additional information from applicants, or deny visa issuance without explanation. We do our best to give you realistic expectations for processing, as consulates generally adhere to their guidelines. However, do understand that our control is limited, and we cannot therefore guarantee that your visa will be issued on time or at all. But we can come pretty close to a guarantee.

Jurisdiction Your visa may be processed through our partners in other locations, as required by some consulates' jurisdictional rules, and/or as necessary for most efficient processing.

Refunds Tombouctou will provide a full refund of service fees if at fault for mis-issuance or late issuance of visas. We are not, however, responsible for complications arising from applicant, shipper, or consular errors. If a passport is damaged during processing and Tombouctou is at fault, liability will be equal to the cost of replacing the passport or $135, whichever is less.

 Window of Error Tombouctou is not responsible for travel document errors discovered after the applicant has departed from the United States.

Fee Changes Both consular and service fees are subject to change at any time, the former without notice and the latter with minimal notice.

Refusal of Service We reserve the right to refuse service to any applicant, for reasons including but not limited to incomplete documentation, degree of difficulty of service requested, or insufficient processing time.

Cancellation of Service If you cancel your service request before we submit your application for processing, you will not be charged any fees outside of necessary shipping costs. If you cancel your service request after we submit your application for processing you will be charged any consular fees paid, in addition to shipping fees and any service fees as determined by Tombouctou.

Privacy policy We will not share your personal information with any party other than consular officials, if specifically requested. We will not share your credit card or other payment information with anyone at all.
